Windows 11

Are you already using it or planning to use it? What are your thoughts on Windows 11?

At this moment (with the latest updates & all) - it's not much worse than Windows 10, which in turn is not much worse than Windows 7, which is a bit worse than Windows XP was in its time...

Lol. 🙂

So: usable, but not perfect, but it works... but not perfect.
In a few years time, when they discontinue it, it will be almost a finished product - just like Windows 10 was! 🙂

I moved to a Macbook Pro a few years ago and havent looked back. I know its a to each his own thing but the tight integration with iPhone, emails, and well....everything has increased my productivity. I hated working on a laptop till I made the move. Mostly because I travel so much and work life requires a constant connection.

With that said. Windows 10 is good enough for the kiddos gaming rig for now. No need to force the upgrade so fast and deal with incompatibility issues.

Do you use any "docking" attachements, or work straight from the laptop?

I really love using a "normal" montiro, keyboard and mouse - using the ones on laptops only in a pinch (on the move).

BikeGremlin When Im at home or office I dock to dual screens with one single USB-C port connection. I enjoy the full size SteelSeries keyboard and more workspace but keeping everything on one system is nice when you can just unplug and go.

I am using Windows 11. Its pretty much the same thing. Minor GUI changes and tweaks. I feel as if they're trying to be more like MacOS.

If memory (pun intended 🙂 ) serves me well, Windows 10 became stable and usable some 3 years past its launch.

I expect to see the same with Windows 11. Right now I hear a lot of people have all sorts of problems and hiccups with Windows 11. Apparently, Microsoft retires their OS-s as soon as they get them to work properly. 🙂

The only problem I had was with the official govt. e-commerce software (used for taxes and e-payments to public companies). I solved it by running a Windows 10 instance in a VirtualBox. As a man falling from a 10-storey building says: so far, so good. 🙂
